Servo drive repair
Servo drive repair, tested with a motor under load
Star Automations repairs servo drives and amplifiers at component level at its Chennai and Puducherry sites. We trace the fault in the power stage, DC bus, gate drive, feedback or control circuits, replace the failed parts, and run the drive with a motor under load before return. When a drive alarm may be caused by the motor, send both and we test them together.

Servo drive faults we repair
A drive alarm tells you where to look, not always what failed. Overcurrent can be the power stage, the gate drive, the motor or the cable.
- No power, or a blown IGBT or IPM power stage
- DC bus, overvoltage and regeneration faults
- Overcurrent and ground-fault alarms
- Encoder and feedback communication alarms
- Switch-mode power supply and gate drive failures
- Display, keypad and parameter memory faults
How a repaired drive is tested
After component-level repair, the drive is powered up on a test rig or custom jig, the power stage and feedback circuits are checked, and the drive is run with a servo motor under load. Your drive comes back with its own settings and serial history, and a printed test report.
If the motor is the real cause, the drive repair alone will not hold. That is why we ask for the motor too when the alarm points to feedback or overcurrent. Motors are proved on our load test.
When to repair a drive
Repair
The drive is obsolete, the replacement lead time stops the line, or a new drive would need re-commissioning and new parameters.
Replace or upgrade
Repeated failures, a damaged chassis, or no parts for the power stage. See retrofit and migration.
Servo drive brands we work on
ABB, Allen-Bradley (Kinetix, Ultra), B&R, Baumüller, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth and Indramat, Control Techniques, Danfoss, Delta (ASDA), Elau, Estun, Fanuc (alpha and beta amplifiers), Festo, Fuji Electric, Hiwin, Inovance, Kinco, Kollmorgen, Lenze, LS Electric, Mitsubishi (MR-J2S to MR-J5), Moog, NUM, Omron, Panasonic (MINAS), Parker, Sanyo Denki, Schneider Electric (Lexium), SEW-Eurodrive, Siemens (SINAMICS, SIMODRIVE), Stöber, Teco and Yaskawa (Sigma series).
Brand names describe the equipment we repair. Not listed? Send the nameplate and we check before you ship. Obsolete or hard-to-find drives can also be quoted as obsolete spares.
How to send the motor
You can send a servo motor from anywhere in India. Talk to us before you courier, so the unit is expected and logged on arrival.
Send the nameplate
WhatsApp a clear photo of the nameplate, the alarm code and what the machine was doing when it failed.
We confirm repairability
We tell you whether we can test and repair that model before anything is shipped.
Courier or pickup
Courier the motor to our Chennai bench, or ask us to arrange pickup where needed.
Inspection and quote
The motor is opened, inspected and photographed. You get the findings and a quote before work starts.
Repair, test, dispatch
Repaired, run-tested and load-tested, then dispatched with a printed test report.
Which servo drive brands do you repair?
Multi-brand, including Fanuc, Yaskawa, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, ABB and B&R drives. Send the model and alarm code.
Can you repair a drive with an overcurrent alarm?
Usually. The cause is often the power stage or gate drive, and sometimes the motor or cable. Send the drive model and alarm code.
Will the drive keep its parameters?
Your own drive is repaired and returned, so its settings and serial history stay with it. Back up parameters before removal where you can.
Do you test drives with a motor?
Yes. Drives are run with a motor under load on a rig or custom jig before return.
Is there a warranty?
A written warranty is given after a successful repair. Warranty terms are stated on each quotation.
Send the nameplate. We confirm repairability before you courier.
