Star ReLife: sell your faulty servo motors, drives and boards

Broken isn't scrap. ReLife it. Send the faulty servo motors, drives and boards you were going to scrap. We repair them at our cost, sell them with a test report, and pay you a share of every sale. You pay nothing upfront, and nothing if a unit cannot be repaired.

01How it works

From your scrap pile to your bank in 6 steps

  1. Send your list of faulty units, or hand them over at a repair pickup.
  2. Star tests every unit free and tells you which can be repaired.
  3. Repairable units are repaired at Star's cost, run-tested and given a test report.
  4. They are listed and sold without your company name, with Star's warranty.
  5. You are paid your share on each sale, by bank transfer or as repair credit.
  6. Units that cannot be repaired go back to you, or to an authorised e-waste recycler, as you choose.

Lower than ReValue because Star pays for the repair and carries the risk. Worked out per sale invoice, not per item.

What else you get

A test result for every unit you send, repairable or not.

First right to buy back

Any repaired unit from your own lot, at a discount, before it is listed.

Circularity record

Every quarter: units back in service and units recycled, by count and weight, for ESG and EPR reports.

Blind sale with warranty

Your name is never shown, and Star carries the buyer warranty.

One agreement

Working units go to ReValue, faulty units to ReLife, needed spares to repair-and-hold.

05FAQ

ReLife questions

Will you really take units that do not work?

Yes. That is what ReLife is for. Send servo motors, drives, encoders, PLC modules, HMIs and boards that failed and were set aside. We test each one free. Units we can repair are repaired at our cost and sold; units we cannot repair go back to you or to an authorised recycler.

Who pays for the repair?

Star pays for testing, parts and repair labour. You pay nothing upfront and nothing if a unit cannot be repaired or does not sell. You earn 30–40% of each sale, or 5 points more if you take it as repair credit. For larger lots, insurance cover for the period your stock is with us can be arranged.

Why is the share lower than in ReValue?

Because Star carries the repair cost and the risk that a unit cannot be repaired. In ReValue the units already work, so your share is 50–70%. If you prefer a higher share, pay for the repair yourself and the repaired unit goes into ReValue.

Can we get a repaired unit back for our own use?

Yes. You have the first right to buy any repaired unit from your own lot at a discount before it is listed for sale. Many plants use this to rebuild a spare for a critical axis without buying new.

What do we get for our sustainability report?

Every quarter you receive a circularity record: how many units, and what weight, went back into service and how many were recycled, with disposal records for the recycled units. It can be used in ESG and extended producer responsibility (EPR) reporting.

Will buyers know the units came from our plant?

No. ReLife sales run blind: buyers see Star Automations as the seller and never your company name. Asset tags and plant labels are removed before listing if you ask.
