Printable reference sheets from our repair bench: encoder types and counts, an alignment checklist, an alarm quick sheet, a feedback selection guide for motor makers, and a send-in form for repairs. Free PDFs, no sign-up.
Encoder families, interfaces, counts per revolution and the motors they sit on: Fanuc pulsecoders (alpha A64, A1000), Mitsubishi OBA/OSA, Yaskawa UTOPH, Tamagawa, Heidenhain ECN/EQN/ERN and SICK SKS/SRS/SRM.
Common encoder and feedback alarms on Fanuc, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi and Siemens drives, what each usually points to, and what to check on the cable and connector first.
What to record before removing an encoder, the order of checks after refitting it, and the readings that tell you commutation is right before the motor goes back on the machine.
For motor makers and machine builders: Hall sensors, incremental encoders, absolute encoders and resolvers compared on cost, resolution, temperature, noise immunity and drive compatibility.
Fill in and pack with the motor: nameplate details, fault seen, alarm code, drive model and the turnaround you need. Speeds up the quote and the repair.
Manufacturer datasheets, encoder pin-outs and cable diagrams belong to the manufacturer, so we do not post them here. If you send the motor or encoder nameplate, we check our files and send what we have for that model, usually the same working day.
This is also the quickest way to get a repair quote: the same photo tells us whether the motor can be repaired.
Encoder connector pin-outs for common Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa and Siemens motors
Feedback cable details for the drive and motor pair
Brake voltage and wiring
Replacement encoder cross-reference where the original is obsolete
No. Every PDF on this page downloads directly. Print them, keep them in the maintenance file, share them with your team.
Can I get the datasheet for a specific servo motor or encoder?
Send us the nameplate photo on WhatsApp. If we have the manufacturer datasheet or a wiring diagram for that model on file, we send it with the quote. We do not publish manufacturer datasheets here because they belong to the manufacturer.
Are these checks a substitute for a repair?
No. They help you find out whether the fault is in the motor, the encoder, the cable or the drive before anything is removed from the machine. If the motor or encoder is faulty, it needs a bench test and repair.
Which sheet should I start with when a servo alarm shows?
Start with the encoder alarm quick sheet. It tells you which alarms usually point to the cable or connector, which ones point to the encoder, and which ones need the motor on a test bench.
Can motor makers use the feedback selection guide?
Yes. It was written for motor makers and machine builders choosing between Hall sensors, incremental encoders, absolute encoders and resolvers. Call us if you need help matching a feedback device to a drive.

Send the nameplate or encoder label
A clear photo of the motor nameplate and, if the cover is off, the encoder label is enough to start. We reply with whether it can be repaired and a quote.
