Guide

Why an injection moulding servo pump motor overheats

Overheating usually comes from winding or bearing wear, blocked cooling, a high constant load or a drive setting problem. Stop the machine if the motor is too hot to touch, check airflow and cables, then send the nameplate photo for diagnosis.

01Guide

Servo motor overheating

Check cooling

Dust on fins, a failed fan or blocked ducts raise temperature.

Check bearings

Noise or shaft play points to bearing wear.

Check windings

Winding insulation faults need a bench test, not a guess.

Check the drive

Overload settings and current limits can cause constant high load.

02FAQ

Questions

Can I keep running an overheating servo motor?

No. Continued running can damage the winding and encoder. Stop and inspect.

Can Star repair it?

Yes. We do winding repair, bearing replacement and a bench load test. Pickup is available from all cities.

Is a replacement available?

Ask about Servo Swap exchange.

Are you the machine maker?

No. Star Automations is an independent multi-brand repair company, not an OEM or authorised service centre. Brand names only describe the equipment we repair.
