Common Siemens drive faults
A drive alarm tells you where to look, not always what failed. Overcurrent can be the power stage, the gate drive, the motor or the cable.

03Alarm codes
Siemens alarm codes and what to check
The faults below are common SINAMICS S120 power unit faults. Numbers differ on other Siemens series.
F30001: power unit overcurrent
Can be the power stage, the motor or the cable. Disconnect the motor and see if the fault stays.
F30002 and F30003: DC link voltage
Overvoltage often means braking or supply problems; undervoltage points to supply or precharge faults.
F30004: heatsink overtemperature
Check the fan, the airflow and the enclosure temperature.
F30005 and F30021: overload and ground fault
Check load, motor cable and motor insulation.

04Verification
How a repaired Siemens drive is tested
After component-level repair, the drive is powered up on a test rig, the power stage and feedback circuits are checked, and the drive is run with a servo motor under load. Your drive comes back with its own settings and serial history, and a printed test report.
If the motor is the real cause, the drive repair alone will not hold. When the alarm points to feedback or overcurrent, send the motor too: see Siemens servo motor repair and encoder repair. We are an independent multi-brand repair company, not an OEM service centre.

Courier the drive, with the motor if the alarm points to feedback or overcurrent, to our Chennai or Puducherry bench.

The drive is opened and inspected. You get the findings and a quote before work starts.
