Mitsubishi A series and FX migration to Q, iQ-R and iQ-F
Mitsubishi A and QnA series PLCs and older FX units are still running in many Indian plants, but spares are getting scarce. We move programs from GX Developer to GX Works, map I/O to Q, iQ-R or FX5, and replace GOT panels and MR-J2S servo systems where needed.

From and to
| Legacy | Current | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A1S, A2S, A2US, AnN, AnA | Q series or iQ-R | Base and I/O can sometimes be reused with conversion adapters |
| QnA series | Q or iQ-R | Program conversion in GX Works |
| FX1N, FX2N, FX3U | iQ-F (FX5U, FX5UC) | Instruction differences reviewed |
| GOT-A900, GOT-F900, GOT1000 | GOT2000 | Screens converted and checked |
| MR-J2S servo | MR-J4 or MR-J5 | Replacement motors or adapters, parameters retuned |
What needs care
- Special function modules: positioning, analog, high-speed counter
- CC-Link and MelsecNet networks
- Instruction differences between FX generations
- Servo tuning after an amplifier change
Keeping the old one running
We repair Mitsubishi CPUs, power supplies, I/O and special modules, GOT panels and MR-J series amplifiers. See PLC and HMI repair and servo drive repair.
Questions
Can we reuse the A series wiring?
Often. Mitsubishi offers conversion adapters for some base and I/O combinations, which shortens the shutdown.
Will FX2N programs run on FX5?
After conversion and review. Some instructions and special registers differ and must be checked.
Send the nameplate or encoder label
A clear photo of the motor nameplate and, if the cover is off, the encoder label is enough to start. We reply with whether it can be repaired and a quote.
