Repair and testing
Does Star Automations have a D-U-N-S number?
Yes. Star Automations’ D-U-N-S Number is 87-796-3190, used by international buyers, OEMs and trading partners to verify the company in the Dun & Bradstreet business directory before onboarding as a supplier.
Does Star Automations have a GST LUT for export?
Yes. Star Automations holds a GST Letter of Undertaking (LUT), ARN AD340526000445F, which allows export of repaired motors, spares and services without paying IGST upfront. Freight forwarders, CHAs and export customers can confirm this before shipment.
Which servo motor brands do you repair?
Fanuc, Yaskawa, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, ABB, B&R, Panasonic, Delta, Omron, Bosch Rexroth (Indramat), Kollmorgen, Parker, Schneider Electric, SEW-Eurodrive, Sanyo Denki, Fagor, Kawasaki, Baumüller, Stöber, Moog and other industrial servo makes. Send a photo of the nameplate and the fault, and we confirm repairability before you courier.
Are you an OEM service centre?
No. Star Automations is an independent multi-brand repairer. Plants use us when the OEM lead time is long, the unit is obsolete, or they need a tested second source.
Do you serve plants outside Tamil Nadu?

What do maintenance teams usually send?
A failed servo motor from a packaging, robot or transfer axis, a servo drive with DC-bus or encoder alarms, or an obsolete board that the OEM quoted at a long lead time. Start with one unit and judge the report.
Which brands of servo drive do you repair?
Star repairs multi-brand servo drives and servo motors at the component level. Servo motors we test include Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Yaskawa, Bosch Rexroth and Indramat, Panasonic and Sanyo Denki; the full list is on the motors page. If your model is not listed, send a photo of the nameplate on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you ship anything.
How do you test a repaired servo motor without the original drive?
We test it on our in-house universal servo test system, which runs servo motors from many brands on one rig without each brand's own drive. It reads incremental, absolute and serial encoders, resolvers, Hall sensors and tachometers. Each refurbished motor gets a final run test on a universal servo drive and a load test on a custom-built rig, and goes back with a printed test report.
What does repair-return mean?
Repair-return means you send us the failed unit, and we repair, test and return the same unit to you. We log the serial number on arrival, trace the fault to the component, quote with findings, refurbish, test and dispatch with a test report.
What warranty do you give on repairs?
Warranty terms are stated on each quotation, because they depend on the unit and the work done. Line-down jobs are prioritised.
Do you have exchange units for line-down cases?
For many servo motor brands and series our test system covers, we can ship a tested exchange unit while your unit is refurbished. Ask with the part number on WhatsApp at +91 97866 22233.
OEM and EV programmes
Can Star be our OEM warranty repair partner in India?
Yes. Star works to your test methods, acceptance criteria and reporting. It has worked for about ten years as all-India warranty and service partner for RealLand servo motors (China), and on all-India warranty and post-warranty servo repair support for Shibaura Machine (formerly Toshiba Machine). Most programmes start with a bench trial on 2–3 failed units.
Do you repair EV motor controllers and chargers?
Yes. Star repairs EV motor controllers, chargers, DC-DC converters and power boards for two- and three-wheelers, low-voltage boards for four-wheelers, and refurbishes EV motors. Star works to the OEM's test methods, acceptance criteria and reporting and returns a test report per unit.
Spares, surplus and manufacturing
Can you find obsolete automation parts?
Often. Star sources obsolete and hard-to-find spares for servo systems, drives, PLCs, HMIs and CNC machines. Every item is quote only: send the part number, quantity and the condition you need. If a part cannot be found, we can often repair your own unit instead.
Do you buy surplus automation parts?
Yes. Upload a list of surplus or dead-stock servo motors, drives, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs or CNC parts. We review it, send a written offer, and arrange pickup and payment once you accept.
Do you build control panels?
Yes, for India and export: Siemens-centred or partner-preferred platforms for Europe, and Rockwell / Allen-Bradley where preferred for the USA, built to your drawings and tested before dispatch.
Where are your cable harnesses made?
Star manufactures cable harnesses at its own facility in Bengaluru, of about 7,000 sq ft, for defence, drone, EV, industrial and special-purpose applications. Workmanship follows IPC/WHMA-A-620, and every harness is continuity and hi-pot tested.
International
Can units be sent from outside India for repair and re-export?
Yes. Units are imported into India for repair, repaired and tested at our Puducherry factory, and re-exported with a test report per unit. Star holds its own IEC. For about a decade Star has worked as global repair/refurbish partner for HP Indigo, with units imported via Flextronics, refurbished to Flex quality guidance and re-exported.

Where is Star Automations located?
Star Automations is headquartered at C-20 Industrial Estate, Thattanchavady, Puducherry 605009, where its refurbishment factory of about 5,000 sq ft is. It has a servo motor repair bench in Chennai, a facility of about 7,000 sq ft in Bengaluru for motor repair and manufacturing, and sites in Hyderabad and Delhi.
Does Star Automations hold ISO 9001:2015 certification?
Yes. Star Automations holds ISO 9001:2015 certificate no. 3050260527171Q from QRO Certification LLP for its Puducherry site, valid until 26 May 2029 subject to annual surveillance audits.
