O&M training · solar inverters
Hands-on training for operation and maintenance technicians on solar inverter power stages, control boards and auxiliary circuits. It is taught at the bench, on real faulty units, so technicians learn to find the failed component instead of swapping a board.
Modules can be combined or shortened for your team. The scope is agreed before the first session.
DC and AC isolation, waiting for discharge, verifying the unit is dead, and the personal protective equipment for each task.
Reading fault codes and event logs, taking DC input and AC output measurements, and checking insulation and earth-fault circuits. Deciding between repair and replacement.
IGBT and MOSFET modules, gate drivers, DC-link capacitors, heatsinks and fans, and what each failure looks like in the readings.
Control board supply, the auxiliary SMPS, analogue sensing, communication circuits, and the RCMU sensing circuit.
Trainees fault-find real faulty units from start to finish, then write the findings in the same report format we use for customers.

At our refurbishment factory in Puducherry, with a bench lab of real faulty units and test equipment.
Classroom sessions on site, followed by the bench lab at our Puducherry factory for the hands-on modules.
Pilot scope, duration and fees are agreed per batch on request. We do not publish a standard fee on this page.
Share your inverter models, the fault history you see most, and the experience level of the team.
We agree which modules, which units and which faults the pilot batch will cover.
The pilot team goes through the modules, and we review the fault-finding reports they write.
We review the outcome with your O&M lead and agree whether to extend the course to the wider team.
It is for O&M technicians, field engineers and plant electricians who respond to solar inverter faults. Basic electrical safety training is expected before the course. The modules are pitched at technicians who already work on electrical equipment, so the course builds on their existing skills.
Yes, where a unit can be isolated for the session. For on-site delivery we use your units. For the bench lab we use units we have received for repair, so trainees work on real faults. The scope call confirms which units are used and how they are isolated.
Delta RPI commercial inverters are in our repair scope and are used in the bench lab. For other makes, we confirm the models in the scope call, so the syllabus matches the units your team runs. Tell us the models you operate when you request a proposal.
The duration depends on which modules you take and how many people attend, so we do not publish a fixed length. We agree it in the scope call. The pilot batch sets the pattern for any wider rollout, and the schedule is confirmed before the first session.
Each trainee receives the inverter failure checklist and the fault-finding flow used in the course, plus the report template used for writing findings. The fault-finding reports written in the bench lab can be shared with your O&M lead, so the learning stays with the team.
Yes. Star also runs fault-finding training for servo, drive and PLC technicians on real faulty units, using the same bench approach. The schedule and the course format are set per programme. See the training page for those courses and how they are delivered.
