Star Automations load-tests SMPS, power supplies, adapters, LED drivers and DC-DC converters at set conditions in Bengaluru. Each unit gets a test record with the set load, the measured voltage, current and power, and a pass or fail result against your limits.
Important: This is an in-house electrical test and test record service for pre-compliance, production, validation and post-repair testing. It is not NABL-accredited testing, and it is not BIS or CE certification. Our records do not replace a certified laboratory's report. For accredited certification, please use a NABL- or BIS-recognised laboratory.
What a load test checks in a power supply
A programmable electronic load draws a set current, resistance or power from the supply, so we can see how its output holds up without connecting the real product. In constant current (CC) mode we check current capability. In constant resistance (CR) mode the supply sees a fixed resistor, which suits start-up checks. In constant power (CP) mode the load draws fixed power, which matches converter stages.

LED drivers and multi-output supplies are tested channel by channel. Tell us the number of outputs and the rating of each when you enquire.
Overflow for small and mid batches
When your own end-of-line load is busy or down, we run the batch for you and return a record for every unit. Also test insulation before dispatch with our hipot and insulation resistance testing service.

Agree the test plan
We confirm in writing the load mode, set values, duration and connections, and tell you if your product is outside our load's range.
Test
Trained staff run each unit in a supervised area and log it individually.
Receive the record
You get set conditions, measured values and a pass or fail result for each unit.
What you receive
A test record (PDF) that lists, for each unit: the unit ID, the load mode and set values, the duration, the measured voltage, current and power, a pass or fail result against your limits, and the instrument model used, test date and operator name. Logged data and photos can be added on request.
Frequently asked questions
Can you load-test an SMPS or adapter?
Yes, within the rating of our electronic load. We load the output at set conditions, record the measured voltage, current and power, and report pass or fail against your limits. Send the rated output voltage, current and power so we can confirm the unit is within our range.
Can you burn in a batch of power supplies?
Yes. We run each unit at a set load for a duration agreed with you, log readings, and report each unit separately. The load profile and duration come from your own test plan or specification, and we confirm the range before starting.
Do you test multi-output supplies and LED drivers?
Yes, channel by channel within the rating of our load. Tell us how many outputs the unit has and the rating of each. If a channel is outside our range we say so before any work starts.
