Drone motor and ESC repair for drone OEMs, manufacturers and importers

Star Automations repairs failed drone motors and ESCs for drone brand owners, Make in India drone manufacturers, importers and overseas makers selling into India. We take back units that are out of warranty or were never covered, repair them under your RMA numbers, test them, and return them to you with a report per serial. You keep the customer, the warranty and the design. We give you a repair route that costs less than replacing the motor or the ESC.

01Who it is for

Built for the company behind the drone, not the pilot

This service is for the business that owns the product and the after-sales promise. Operators reach us through you.

Drone brand owners

Agriculture, survey, mapping, delivery and inspection drone brands with a fleet in the field and motors coming back after the warranty ends.

Make in India manufacturers

Drone and propulsion manufacturers and assemblers who need a repair line for returned motors and ESCs without building one in-house.

Importers and distributors

Companies importing drone motors, ESCs and propulsion sets for Indian customers, who are left holding the failures when the overseas supplier will not take them back.

Overseas makers selling into India

Motor and drone companies outside India who want failed units repaired and returned here instead of shipped back across borders.

02The after-sales gap

Why drone OEMs need a repair route

Most drone motors fail in a few ways: bearings worn by dust and spray, a shaft or bell bent in a hard landing, magnets that loosen with heat, or one phase that opens. The motor is usually worth repairing. Without a repair route, the answer is always a new motor or a new ESC, and the failed unit sits in a store.

Since February 2022, finished drones cannot be imported into India except for research and development, defence and security, while drone components continue to be imported. That puts the after-sales load on Indian drone makers and the importers who supply their parts.

Repair-return turns those failed units into serviceable spares at a lower cost than new, and gives your engineering team failure data from the field.

03Scope

What we repair

We work on the propulsion set and the electronics that drive it. Tell us the model, the voltage class and the failure, and we confirm what we can repair before you ship.

  • Electronic speed controllers (ESCs) and power boards
  • Gimbal motors and their driver boards
  • Pump and spinner motors on spray drones

04How it works

How a repair programme starts

Start small. Send a few failed units, judge us on the reports, then agree the programme.

  1. NDA and data

We sign your NDA and you share the motor and ESC data you are willing to share: ratings, test limits and the faults you see most.

  2. Bench trial

You send 2 to 3 failed units. We find the fault, repair them, test them and send a report on each.

  3. Agree the method

We agree the test method, acceptance limits, report format and the RMA and serial numbering you use.

  4. Run the programme

Units come in under your RMA numbers and go back to you repaired, tested and labelled, or marked not repairable with the reason.

  5. Failure data

You receive a periodic summary of failure modes by model and batch, so your design and supplier teams can act on it.

Your warranty, your design, your firmware and the sale of new units stay with you. We do not deal with your customers unless you ask us to, and we do not offer them a replacement.

Warranty terms on our repair are stated on each quotation.

06Verification

How a repaired drone motor is tested

Each motor is checked for insulation and phase-to-phase balance, then run on an ESC at its rated voltage. No-load current and speed are compared with the rating and with a known-good unit where you supply one. Bearings are checked for noise and vibration.

ESCs are function-tested with a motor before return. We do not change your firmware or settings.
