What needs care in this migration

How long does a PLC-5 migration take?

It depends on I/O count, program size, networks and cutover constraints. We give a time and cost estimate after the audit, not before.

How much does a PLC migration cost in India?

It depends on the platform, I/O count, HMI scope and testing needs. We quote after the audit.

Can you migrate without downtime?

A staged cutover often keeps downtime short, but some cutover window is normally needed. We agree the plan and rollback with you.

What is a cutover plan?

A step-by-step plan for switching from the old system to the new one, with timings, checks and a rollback path.

Can a PLC-5 program be converted automatically?

Partly. Tools convert much of the ladder, but the result needs engineering review and testing.

What is DH+?

A legacy Allen-Bradley peer-to-peer network used with PLC-5 and SLC 5/04.

What is remote I/O?

A legacy scanner and adapter network used to connect I/O racks to PLC-5 systems.

What replaces a 1336 drive?

Usually a PowerFlex 755, chosen by rating and control needs.

What replaces PanelView 600?

Typically PanelView Plus 7 or a current PanelView 5000, depending on needs.

02How we run it

Our migration process

  • Migration readiness audit: inventory of hardware, firmware, networks, programs and spares
  • Back up and document the running system before anything is touched
  • Design the target architecture and I/O mapping; agree scope and the cutover approach
  • Convert and rebuild the program and HMI, with every conversion warning reviewed by hand
  • Test in stages: simulation, panel factory test where panels are built, then site testing
  • Cutover with a rollback plan, then handover documentation

What we need from you: Program backups (or access to the running processor); Electrical drawings and the I/O list, if available; Network layout and device list; Photos of nameplates, panels and wiring; Your shutdown windows and any safety requirements.

05FAQ

Common questions

Do you do Allen-Bradley migrations?
Yes. We start with an audit, then convert, test and cut over. Send model numbers on WhatsApp +91 97866 22233.
Is PLC-5 obsolete?
Rockwell lists PLC-5 as discontinued. Check lifecycle status for your model; spares remain available through surplus and repair.
Is the SLC 500 still supported?
Check Rockwell lifecycle status for your processor model. We source SLC 500 spares and plan migrations.
Can RSLogix 500 be converted to Studio 5000?
Largely as a starting point; the result needs review and testing.
