Repair and refurbishment partner in India for global OEMs
Star Automations repairs and refurbishes electronics and motors for global OEMs and service companies at its factory in Puducherry, India. Units are worked to the OEM's test method and quality guidance, then returned with a per-unit report and the export documents. We have worked this way for about a decade for several OEMs in industrial electronics, commercial equipment and IT hardware. Customer names are withheld under confidentiality agreements.
A repair and refurbishment line in India for your returns and field failures
Many OEMs and service companies hold stock of failed boards, drives, motors and returned units that are too costly to scrap and too slow to repair in-house. Star Automations takes those units into India, repairs them at component level in our own factory, tests them and ships them back.
We have run programmes of this kind for about a decade for several OEMs. Because of confidentiality agreements we do not publish customer names or product lines. References and process details are shared after an NDA.
Equipment we repair and refurbish
- Servo motors, servo drives, VFDs and AC drives, tested on our universal servo motor test system
- Industrial and motion electronics: control boards, power supplies, HMIs, PLC modules
- Commercial and IT-sector hardware boards from returns and warranty failures
- Motors: servo, BLDC, permanent-magnet and DC
- Refurbishment of returned and surplus units back to stock grade
How a programme starts and runs
- We sign an NDA and agree the equipment list, volumes and your quality guidance.
- A bench trial on 2 to 3 units to confirm that our methods meet your acceptance criteria.
- Units are imported into India for repair under the customs provisions for import for repair and re-export. Star holds its own Importer-Exporter Code.
- Component-level repair, test to your method, and a per-unit report by serial number.
- Units are re-exported with the export documents. Failure findings are fed back to you as agreed.
Why OEMs use India for repair work
India has an electronics repair services outsourcing (ERSO) framework that supports import for repair and re-export, and Star is registered under it. Component-level skills, lower repair cost than a swap and a short transit from the Gulf, Asia and Europe make it a practical repair hub.
Star was founded in 2000 and has more than 25 years of servo and electronics repair experience. Depots are in Puducherry, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi.
