ABB servo motor repair
Star Automations repairs ABB servo motors, including industrial servo motors and robot axis motors. The motor is inspected, the failed parts are repaired or replaced, the encoder is aligned where needed, and the motor is proved on our servo motor test system with a no-load run and a full-load test before it leaves our Chennai bench. We are not a ABB dealer or service partner; the brand name describes the motor we repair.

02Test bench
What the test bench checks
ABB motors are tested on our servo motor test system without the original drive or robot controller, then loaded on the rig.
- Insulation resistance and hi-pot
- Winding resistance and balance
- Encoder or resolver feedback and commutation offset
- Brake release and holding, where fitted
- No-load run, then full-load run; speed and current against the nameplate
- Vibration and noise at rated speed
03Repair or replace
Repair or replace
Repair suits motors where the fault is in the feedback device, brake, bearings or connector and the frame is sound.
Replacement suits motors with a damaged gear interface, shaft or winding. For robot motors, check the robot maker's guidance on recalibration after any motor change; we tell you what was replaced.

How to send the motor
You can send a servo motor from anywhere in India. Talk to us before you courier, so the unit is expected and logged on arrival.
Send the nameplate
WhatsApp a clear photo of the nameplate, the alarm code and what the machine was doing when it failed.
We confirm repairability
We tell you whether we can test and repair that model before anything is shipped.
Courier or pickup
Courier the motor to our Chennai bench, or ask us to arrange pickup where needed.
Inspection and quote
The motor is opened, inspected and photographed. You get the findings and a quote before work starts.
Repair, test, dispatch
Repaired, run-tested and load-tested, then dispatched with a printed test report.
Do you repair ABB servo motors?
Yes, including industrial servo motors and robot axis motors. Send the nameplate and we confirm before you courier.
Do you repair robot axis motors?
Yes, the motor itself. Recalibration on the robot after refitting is done on site by your team or the robot's service provider.
What should I send for a quote on a ABB motor?
A photo of the nameplate, the alarm code and a note on the symptom. We confirm repairability before you courier.
Do you need a ABB drive to test the motor?
No. Our servo motor test system runs ABB motors without the original drive, then a load rig applies full load.
Is there a warranty?
A written warranty is given after a successful repair. Warranty terms are stated on each quotation.
