1336 PLUS, IMPACT and FORCE to PowerFlex 755 migration

1336 PLUS, 1336 IMPACT, 1336 FORCE and 1395 DC drives are discontinued Allen-Bradley drives. Star Automations plans the replacement with PowerFlex 755 or PowerFlex DC: motor data and tuning, parameter mapping, communications and cabinet fit. We also repair and supply legacy 1336 and 1395 drives while you plan.

Typical migration paths

The right target depends on your I/O count, networks, performance needs and budget. We confirm the target during the audit — the table shows the usual direction, not a fixed rule.

What needs care in this migration

Parameters

Parameters do not map one-to-one. We document the old settings and set up the new drive from motor data and application needs.

Communications

Old drives on Remote I/O or DH+ move to EtherNet/IP adapters; controller changes may be part of the project.

Fit

Dimensions, cooling, line reactors and wiring differ. We check the cabinet before ordering.

Spares meanwhile

We repair and supply legacy drives so you are not stopped while the replacement is planned.

03How we run it

Our migration process

  • Migration readiness audit: inventory of hardware, firmware, networks, programs and spares
  • Back up and document the running system before anything is touched
  • Design the target architecture and I/O mapping; agree scope and the cutover approach
  • Convert and rebuild the program and HMI, with every conversion warning reviewed by hand
  • Test in stages: simulation, panel factory test where panels are built, then site testing
  • Cutover with a rollback plan, then handover documentation

What we need from you: Program backups (or access to the running processor); Electrical drawings and the I/O list, if available; Network layout and device list; Photos of nameplates, panels and wiring; Your shutdown windows and any safety requirements.

06FAQ

Common questions

What replaces a 1336 drive?
Usually a PowerFlex 755, or a smaller PowerFlex for small drives, chosen by power rating and control needs. We confirm during the audit.
Can you repair my 1336 drive instead?
Often yes, for a time. Send the model and the fault. Repair buys time while the replacement is planned.
