Post-Repair Electrical Safety Testing and Test Record
After a repair or refurbishment, Star Automations can run a withstand and insulation resistance check and issue a test record for each unit. This helps confirm that insulation is intact before equipment returns to service. It does not replace type tests or accredited certification.
Important: This is an in-house electrical safety test and test record service for pre-compliance, production and post-repair testing. It is not NABL-accredited testing, and it is not BIS or CE certification. Our records do not replace a certified laboratory's report. For accredited certification, please use a NABL- or BIS-recognised laboratory.
Why test after repair or refurbishment
Repair work can disturb insulation: a replaced component, a cleaned board, rewired terminals or a refitted cover. A functional run does not always show a weak insulation path. A withstand and insulation resistance check does, and it leaves a record that your service team can keep with the unit.
What we test
- Power supplies.
- Drives and inverters.
- Control panels.
- Appliances and other repaired equipment, by enquiry.
Records for refurbished or recovered equipment
A per-unit test record is useful for service teams and for asset recovery, where equipment returns to use after refurbishment and you want a documented safety check on file.
Repair services
If the equipment needs repair first, see our servo drive repair and industrial electronics repair pages. We can test after the repair is done.
What this test does not replace
- The manufacturer's full type tests.
- Accredited certification from a NABL- or BIS-recognised laboratory.
How it works
Sample intake
Send us the product type, quantity, test specification and the voltage and current limit you need. Ship samples to us or book an on-site visit in Bengaluru.
Test plan
We agree the test type (AC, DC, IR or a combination), voltage, current limit, duration and where to connect, in writing, before testing.
Test
Trained staff run the test with interlocks and a discharge procedure. Every unit is tested and logged individually.
Report
You receive a test record, with unit ID, applied voltage, current limit, duration, measured value and pass or fail.
What you receive
A test record (PDF) that lists, for each unit:
- Unit ID or serial number
- Test type (AC withstand, DC withstand, insulation resistance)
- Applied voltage and current limit
- Test duration
- Measured leakage current or insulation resistance
- Pass or fail
- Instrument model used, test date and operator name
Questions
Do you test repaired or refurbished equipment?
Yes. After repair or refurbishment, we can run a withstand and insulation resistance check and issue a test record for each unit. This helps confirm that insulation is intact before equipment returns to service. It does not replace the manufacturer's full type tests or any accredited certification.
Can you test equipment repaired elsewhere?
Yes. Send the equipment type, quantity and the voltage and current limit you want, and we agree a test plan with you. Each unit is tested and logged on its own, so the test record matches the serial numbers you send.
Does the test record replace a manufacturer type test?
No. It records an insulation check on each unit after repair. It does not replace the manufacturer's full type tests or any accredited certification from a NABL- or BIS-recognised laboratory.
