Star Recover · Flood and water damage

Flood and water-damage recovery for industrial electronics and motors

When the water goes down, we bring your machines back up. Star Recover restores flood- and water-damaged servo motors, drives, PLCs, panels and power electronics. We triage every unit, ship Servo Swap units for line-critical axes, repair at component level with a test report, and document each unit for your insurance claim.

01Do not

Before you call: do not power it on

  • Do not switch on wet equipment, even if it looks dry
  • Isolate the supply to affected panels and machines
  • Photograph nameplates and the water mark on each unit
  • Keep motors and drives upright and let them drain
  • Call or WhatsApp us the same day
02Recovery

How Star Recover works

  1. First call, same day. Do not power on wet equipment. Isolate the supply, photograph nameplates and water marks, keep units upright and let them drain.
  2. Triage. At your site or our bench, every unit is listed by tag, nameplate and the water level it reached, then sorted: repair, Servo Swap, replace or salvage.
  3. Line-critical first. Servo Swap units or emergency repair for the axes and drives that stop production.
  4. Bench recovery. Cleaning, drying and corrosion treatment at component level; winding insulation tests; bearing and encoder checks; drive and board repair; run test.
  5. Documentation. A report per unit with photos, findings and repair cost, or the reason to replace: the file for your insurer and surveyor.
  6. Salvage. Units not worth repairing go to ReLife or ReValue, so even damaged stock returns value.

Documents for your insurance claim

Each unit gets a report with photos, findings, repair cost or the reason to replace, and a test result after repair. Your surveyor can ask us for repairability, repair-cost and salvage reports directly: services for insurance surveyors.

05FAQ

Flood recovery questions

What should we do with machines right after a flood?

Do not switch on any equipment that was wet, even if it looks dry; trapped water and mud cause short circuits and turn a repairable unit into a write-off. Isolate the supply, photograph nameplates and water marks, keep units upright, and call us the same day so triage can start before corrosion sets in.

Can a water-damaged servo motor be repaired?

Often yes, if it is not powered on while wet and reaches the bench quickly. We clean and dry the motor, test winding insulation, replace bearings and seals, check or replace the encoder, align it and run-test it. The report states whether the motor is restored or should be replaced.

Can flood-damaged drives, PLCs and control panels be repaired?

Many can. Boards are cleaned, dried and treated for corrosion at component level, then failed parts are replaced and the unit is tested with a motor or load. Where corrosion has damaged a board beyond reliable repair, we say so in the report and offer a Servo Swap unit or replacement.

How do we keep production running while units are repaired?

Line-critical axes come first. If we hold a matching unit, Servo Swap ships a tested exchange unit while yours is repaired. Emergency repair is done the same day where the fault and parts allow.

Will you give documents for our insurance claim?

Yes. Each unit gets a report with photos, findings, repair cost or the reason to replace, and a test result after repair. Surveyors can also ask us directly for repairability, repair-cost and salvage reports. See services for insurance surveyors.

Do you come to site?

Yes, for larger losses we can triage at your site and take units to our benches in Puducherry, Chennai or Bengaluru. For a few units, send them to the nearest site with photos of the nameplates.
