Omron PLC migration: C200H, CQM1 and CS1 to CJ2, NJ and NX
Older Omron C-series PLCs are common on packaging, printing and textile machines. We convert CX-Programmer projects, move I/O to CJ2 or NX, or rebuild on NJ with Sysmac Studio when the machine needs motion control, and replace old NT and NS panels.

From and to
| Legacy | Current | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| C200H, C200HS, C200HX | CJ2M or CJ2H | Rack and I/O change |
| CQM1, CPM1A, CPM2A | CP1 or NX1P2 | Small machine controllers |
| CS1 | CJ2 or NJ | CX-Programmer conversion |
| CJ1 | CJ2 | Mostly compatible |
| NT and NS HMIs | NA or NB series | Screens rebuilt |
What needs care
- Special I/O units and their memory areas
- Host link and DeviceNet networks
- Motion and positioning units if moving to NJ
Keeping the old one running
We repair Omron CPUs, power supplies and I/O units, NT and NS panels, and Omron servo drives. See PLC and HMI repair.
Questions
Is moving to NJ worth it?
When the machine has servo axes or needs better data handling, yes. For simple logic, CJ2 or NX1P is enough.
Can CJ1 programs run on CJ2?
Usually with little change, after review.
Send the nameplate or encoder label
A clear photo of the motor nameplate and, if the cover is off, the encoder label is enough to start. We reply with whether it can be repaired and a quote.
